1. Optical performance

The COC backbone is extremely rigid due to the strong cyclic structure, exhibiting a high glass transition temperature. For COC, with the increase of the insertion rate of cyclic olefin monomer, the glass transition temperature showed an increasing trend.

The COC material can be processed by various molding methods such as injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding. In particular, the COC material can be processed by thermoforming, which is difficult to be used for crystalline polyolefin resins. Due to its good coatability and adhesion, COC can also be used for secondary processing and thermal welding.

Its main chain and branch chains contain hard non-polar cyclic structures, which give COC a very low moisture absorption rate. COC is one of the polymers with the lowest water absorption rate of all plastics. Its extremely low water absorption rate makes it extremely stable in dimension and refractive index.

COC material uses non-toxic monomer as raw material, with blood compatibility, no cell toxin, no induced organic mutation, no stimulation and other advantages, suitable for syringes and vials. Not only that, the COC material has a strong resistance to high-energy radiation and ethylene oxide sterilization, and can be sterilized without damaging the material.
